Yiota, a teacher, 28, & Antonis Kimitris, an electrical engineer, 30, married at Agios Antonios Church in Limassol on the 20th August 2016.
We got married at the church as is my Pappou’s (Grandfather’s) Church where he has always been the Priest. He has now retired due to being in a wheelchair, but he put our stefana’s [on] and took part in the litourgia (ritual carried out Orthodox Weddings).
We chose the Palm Beach Hotel, because is it simply stunning. The hotel fits more people in for sit down meals than any other hotel in Larnaca. We wanted a small wedding where only our closest family and friends were invited. It was not [an] open [wedding] and [so] we didn’t have cocktails for people who were not invited for the meal [as well]. It was very important [to us] that everyone we invited had food, as it’s a custom I am used to as a British Cypriot.
We had a Rolls Royce to transport us to the Hotel after the ceremony, we chose it because it’s classic and it was also used in Princess Diana’s Wedding too.
The best part of the day was walking towards the Antonis [in] the church. However our throne chairs broke a little after delivery, so the hotel kindly fixed them and secured them for us.
My Advice: Take a moment to sit back and look at how many people have come to celebrate your special day, as the day will fly by.
