Jolene & Mike Miller, both 30 married at the Nissi Beach Resort in Ayia Napa on the 25th May 2015.

Mike and I had been together for 7 years, and for Christmas he had put tickets for a New Years Eve Trip to Paris in one of my presents. It was a total surprise and I had no idea! He quickly reassured me it wasn’t for an engagement, as people were assuming, it was just because we had a difficult few years and was to celebrate the start of a positive year ahead. We stayed at the Hilton in Paris, and after a romantic day visiting all [the] famous landmarks and a cruise on the river, he got down on one knee at midnight! It was magical! I couldn’t believe what I was seeing or hearing. The ring was a perfect white gold princess cut square diamond! Just perfect!

Mike had said all along he wanted a quiet Wedding with just a few close family and friends on the beach as he didn’t like the thought of a big Wedding with everyone watching. It made him nervous. So after recommendations and a visit to Cyprus, we booked [the] Nissi Beach Resort because it’s simply stunning! Little did we know that over 100 of our nearest and dearest decided to have their family holiday in Cyprus that year and [they] came to see us get married. We were so overwhelmed and lucky!

We had 10 Bridesmaids & a flower girl [and] Mike had 11 groomsmen in total. They all wore matching French blue trousers and waistcoats, with matching shoes and ties.

Our first dance was James Morrison – Won’t let you go. The song means so much to us both. I get goosebumps when I hear it now! We also had Christina Perri – ‘A thousand years’, as our walking down the aisle song, and ‘Be my forever’ with Ed Sheeran for our walk back up the aisle.

We had fruit flavoured vodka for all [of] our adults to add to their fruit cocktails on the table and freshly made cupcakes for the children.

The best part of the day was walking down the aisle with my proud Dad by my side and seeing my fiancé’s face as he turned around! A moment I’ll never forget. [It] was everything I dreamed of and more.

My Advice: Not to worry about every tiny detail. Stressing over Wedding Favours, seating plans and finding the exact shade of mint for chair bows to match your dresses are just not important. I didn’t even notice any of it on the day. All [that] matters is that you have the people you love with you on the day, all the other stuff is irrelevant.
