Well-known and much loved florist, owner of Koyionis Flower Design based on the east coast covering Famagusta & Larnaca, George Koyionis passed away yesterday at 4pm at the private clinic of ‘The American Heart Institute’ in Nicosia.
George, 46, was believed to have suffered a faint episode last Wednesday whilst working in his shop in Paralimni, later the doctors discovered this to have been a brain aneurysm. Over the past four days, George remained in hospital in a coma, despite prayers and hopes of a miracle not only by his family and friends, but also many who knew him on the east coast due to his outstanding work and loving personality, unfortunately was unable to save him.
George’s funeral will take place on Wednesday 25th October at 2pm at the St. Barbara Church (Agia Varvara) in Paralimni, where hundreds of flowers will accompany him on his last journey.
His parents (Evangelos and Toulla) and two siblings (Vivi and Christo) will be accepting condolences from 12.30pm until 2pm.
On Facebook floods of condolences, memories and messages are being shared amongst those who knew him. His last post, on 16th October showcasing some of his beautiful floristry works at a recent wedding, yet nothing could have prepared anyone for the events that followed leading to his passing.
